Our
Story
Island Essence Tasmania is proudly owned and operated by Jane and Joshua Marks, whose journey has always been guided by their passion for organic living and community support.
Since 2002, Jane and Joshua have been passionate advocates for organic living, dedicating themselves to bringing organic produce and products to their local community in Queensland. With a long history in the organic field, they introduced sustainable and natural alternatives to their neighbours, fostering a deeper connection to healthy and environmentally friendly living. In 2006, they relocated to Tasmania, where they embraced sustainable farming practices on their family farm, pursued teaching degrees, fostered children, and raised their six children in harmony with their organic values.
Today, both Jane and Joshua teach disengaged youth in a school on the North West Coast of Tasmania. Jane shares her love of natural products by teaching an elective class where students learn to create natural beauty products. Joshua, with his background in inventory management from his time with a Queensland dairy company, and his time working for a Tasmanian cheese company, brings invaluable expertise in maintaining the company’s operations and inventory control.
